CohostAI ("we," "us," or "our") operates the CohostAI platform at cohostai.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.
1. Information We Collect
Account Data
When you create an account or submit a guide request, we collect your email address and name. Hosts also provide property addresses and optional booking URLs (e.g., Airbnb or VRBO listing links).
Property Data
We collect property addresses to generate location-based local guides. Addresses are geocoded to determine nearby points of interest. We may also store associated zip codes for caching purposes.
Guest & Conversation Data
If you connect a supported booking-channel account (currently via Hospitable, covering Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com), we receive and store reservation details — such as guest name, check-in/check-out dates, and number of guests — and the content of guest messages exchanged with your AI cohost or with you through that connection, so the cohost can answer guests and your inbox can show a complete conversation. We also collect guest questions asked directly through your guide's chat, whether or not a booking-channel account is connected.
Analytics Data
We collect anonymous usage data including visitor IDs, page views, clicks, and directions interactions. We also use Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel to understand how visitors engage with guides.
Cookies
We use a host_session cookie to maintain your authenticated session. Third-party analytics services (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel) may also set cookies on your device.
2. How We Use Your Information

- Answer guest questions and, where you enable it, send those answers to guests through a connected booking-channel account

3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate our platform:
- Google Maps Platform — Geocoding, Places API, and Distance Matrix for location data and nearby point-of-interest discovery.
- OpenAI — AI content generation for guide blurbs and tips, and to generate the AI cohost's answers to guest questions. Guest questions and messages, which may contain personal information, are sent to OpenAI to generate a response.
- Hospitable — Booking-channel integration for Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com. Where you connect an account, Hospitable syncs reservation details and, for accounts with two-way messaging enabled, guest conversation content, so the AI cohost can read and reply to guest messages.
- Hostaway / Guesty — Property-management-system integrations some hosts use to sync reservations and deliver their guide link into the platform's guest message thread.
- Stripe — Payment processing for subscriptions. We do not store your payment card details; Stripe handles all payment data securely.
- Resend — Transactional email delivery for guide links and magic link authentication.
- Supabase — Database hosting and storage.
- Vercel — Application hosting and deployment.
Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their policies for details on how they handle data.
4. Cookies & Tracking
We use the following types of cookies:
- Essential cookies — Required for authentication (
host_session). - Analytics cookies — Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel for understanding usage patterns. These cookies are anonymous and do not identify you personally.
You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect some functionality such as staying logged in.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your account data — including guest conversation data received through a connected booking-channel account — for as long as your account is active. Anonymous analytics data is retained indefinitely in aggregate form. Cached location data (zip code POIs) expires after 14 days and is automatically refreshed.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@cohostai.app. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Delete — Request deletion of your account and personal data.
- Opt-out — Disable analytics tracking via browser settings or cookie preferences.
- Correct — Update or correct inaccurate personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@cohostai.app. Guests who have interacted with a cohost and wish to exercise these rights over their own data may also contact us directly at that address; we will work with the relevant host as needed to fulfill the request.
7. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our website or sending an email. Continued use of our service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
