Cherokee Lake Loop
A one-mile paved loop around Cherokee Lake at the eastern edge of the city, running past a railroad trestle bridge, fishing piers, covered picnic spots, and boardwalk sections over the water. The route is flat, lighted, and accessible, making it the most-used recreational walking path in Thomas County. The Thomasville Rose Garden is directly adjacent and best visited in the same stop.
Paradise Park Walking Paths
An 18-acre historic park a half-mile from downtown with winding walking paths through stands of old longleaf pines, a Story Walk winding through the trees, a covered pavilion, and a playground. It's the closest natural green space to the Broad Street core and operates as a genuine neighborhood park rather than a showpiece. The longleaf pines give it a different character than the manicured parks nearer the lake.

Thomasville Center for the Arts
A restored 1915 elementary school building on the National Register of Historic Places that serves as the main arts campus for Thomasville, hosting 20 rotating art exhibitions annually, a 480-seat performing arts theater, and year-round classes in visual arts, dance, music, and theater for students of all ages. The Wildlife Arts Festival in late fall draws regional wildlife artists and is one of the more distinctive annual events in southwest Georgia.
The Ritz Amphitheater
A 44,000-square-foot open-air park and performance lawn anchoring the south end of downtown's entertainment district, with a professional stage, good acoustics, and capacity for around 1,300 on the grass. It hosts the First Friday Sip and Stroll series (a free monthly concert that draws the whole town from March through December), the Due South food and music festival, and various community events through the year. The park itself is pleasant even when nothing is scheduled.

Thomasville's Historic Big Oak
A live oak that has stood at the corner of North Crawford and Monroe Streets since roughly 1680, making it one of the oldest registered members of the Live Oak Society. The canopy spreads nearly 165 feet and the trunk runs more than 26 feet around, dwarfing the sidewalk and the small park gazebo beneath it. Stop here first to understand the tree-lined character that defines this town.
Lapham-Patterson House
A Victorian National Historic Landmark built in the mid-1880s by a Chicago shoe merchant who survived a major fire and designed a winter cottage with 53 windows, 24 doors, and no two rooms at the same level. The double-flue chimney with a walk-through staircase is architecturally unique in the United States. Tours run regularly and the house is operated as a state historic site.
