Miccosukee Canopy Road Greenway

Elinor Klapp-Phipps Park
A 640-acre city park on North Meridian with 7 miles of trail through bottomland hardwood forest and ravines — the most topographically interesting walking in the immediate Tallahassee area. The East and West Loop combined is the 4.9-mile circuit that most locals mean when they say 'Phipps.'

Tallahassee Museum
A 52-acre outdoor museum in the southwest of the city combining a living-history 1880s pioneer farm, native Florida wildlife in natural habitats (black bears, red wolves, alligators, Florida panther), a cypress swamp boardwalk, and the Tree to Tree Adventures aerial zip line course. The animal collection alone — all rescued, non-releasable Florida natives — justifies the trip.
FSU Flying High Circus
The only collegiate circus in the eastern United States, performing at Florida State University since 1947, entirely produced and performed by FSU students. Trapeze, tightrope, slack rope, aerial silks, and trick bicycling — all done at a level that is genuinely surprising for a student show. Spring and fall performances run for several weekends each.

Florida Historic Capitol Museum
The 1902 Florida Capitol, restored to its original domed and striped-awning exterior, stands directly in front of the modern 22-story tower. Inside: original Senate and House chambers, marble floors, and rotating exhibits on Florida's political history. Free to enter and genuinely interesting even without a civics interest.
Mission San Luis de Apalachee
A 17th-century Spanish Franciscan mission reconstructed on its original 64-acre site two miles west of the Capitol, with the largest reconstructed Native American council house in the Southeast. Interpreters demonstrate blacksmithing, candle making, and pine-needle basketry in the working compound. Florida's only site of this type at this scale.
