Travertine Creek Trail
The primary corridor trail through the heart of the park, following Travertine Creek for 1.5 miles between Pavilion Springs and the Travertine Nature Center with multiple footbridges, swimming access at Little Niagara, and interpretive signage on the mineral springs. The level terrain and shade make it the most forgiving trail in the park, and the swimming holes along the way make it feel far more rewarding than the easy grade suggests.
Bromide Hill Trail
A short but steep climb up CCC-built stone steps to a rocky outcropping with a panoramic view over the town of Sulphur and the surrounding Arbuckle Mountains — the best elevated perspective in the park without driving to a ridge lookout. The trail itself is as notable for its Civilian Conservation Corps masonry as for the view, and the climb takes about 20 minutes from the trailhead.

Veterans Lake Kayaking
A 67-acre no-wake lake inside Chickasaw NRA that is Oklahoma's most accessible flatwater paddling spot within a national park — no motorboat traffic, calm water, and bison visible from the water's edge. Kayaks and canoes can be launched from the boat ramp without a permit, and the morning hours when the lake surface is glassy and the bison are active near the fence line make the experience genuinely memorable.
Chickasaw Artesian Hotel & Spa
A historic hotel built on the site of Sulphur's original bathhouse district, where visitors came at the turn of the 20th century to soak in mineral-rich artesian spring water. The spa still uses natural springs water in its treatments, making this the most distinctive wellness experience in southern Oklahoma. The architecture is that of the original spa resort tradition, restored and operating again as a working hotel.

Chickasaw National Recreation Area
One of Oklahoma's most visited national parks, wrapping a remarkable variety of natural attractions into 10,000 acres that include natural mineral springs, bison pastures, swimming creeks, a 2,300-acre lake and over 30 miles of trails. The Platt Historic District at the heart of the park preserves the Civilian Conservation Corps stonework and the original artesian spring structures, while the Lake of the Arbuckles section adds water-sport depth to the experience.
Chickasaw Cultural Center
A world-class tribal museum complex on 184 acres that uses large-format theater, living history demonstrations, and immersive exhibits to present Chickasaw history from precontact civilization through today. The 96,000-square-foot indoor space includes an exhibit center, research library and performance areas — more depth than most visitors expect from a museum outside a major city. Budget at least three hours for a meaningful visit.
