The best choice when the goal is a complete dinner rather than great pizza.

Kohler-Andrae Dunes Cordwalk
A boardwalk and cordwalk trail through the foredune system at Kohler-Andrae State Park, traversing the most sensitive and dramatic section of Wisconsin's Lake Michigan shoreline — tall dunes held by marram grass, interdunal swales with rare plant communities, and lake views over the crest throughout. The north section runs 0.5 miles and the south section 1.5 miles; together they constitute the best dune walk in Wisconsin.
Kohler-Andrae Woodland Dunes Trail
A mile-long trail through the wooded interior dunes of the state park, passing through pine, oak, and aspen that have colonized older dune ridges away from the active shore. The interpretive signage identifies successional plant communities; the trail is flat and shaded enough to be pleasant even on hot days. A good complement to the open-dune cordwalk.

Freshwater Surfing at North Point
Sheboygan's identity as a surfing town is earnest and the fall and winter sessions at North Point are the real thing — proper waves, cold water, and a community built around Lake Michigan's storm swells. Midwest Surf Co. handles lessons and rentals for newcomers. Watching from shore during a fall swell is compelling on its own.
Levitt AMP Sheboygan Concert Series
A free outdoor summer concert series held on the grounds of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, bringing nationally touring and regional acts in folk, world music, roots, and indie genres to a lawn setting in downtown Sheboygan. The programming quality is consistently higher than the ticket price (free) would suggest and the community attendance reflects that. One of the most worthwhile free events in Wisconsin's summer calendar.
Landmarks & sights
John Michael Kohler Arts Center
One of the most underestimated contemporary art institutions in the Midwest, with nine galleries focused on artist-built environments and self-taught work alongside contemporary ceramics with deep ties to Kohler Company's industrial history. The building is an expanded Victorian mansion and the ARTery space for all ages is genuinely excellent. Admission is free, programming is ambitious, and the collection ranges from monumental to quietly strange.
Kohler-Andrae State Park
A thousand acres of Lake Michigan shoreline, dune cordwalks, and hardwood forest south of Sheboygan where the dunes are tall enough to feel genuinely dramatic against the lake. The beach is one of the longest and least developed on the Wisconsin shore, and the cordwalk through the foredunes gives access to the dune interior without damaging the plants. A park that earns an unhurried half-day.
