Saugatuck Dunes South Trail
The signature dunes hike — 5.1 miles through rolling coastal forest and open sand with a Lake Michigan beach as the finish. It's the most reviewed trail in Saugatuck Dunes State Park and the one that delivers the full range of what this landscape offers: forested dune climbs, sandy ridges, then suddenly the lake. Going counterclockwise saves the beach descent for last.

A 45-minute off-road dune tour in open-air vehicles that has been operating since the 1950s. Star of Saugatuck Boat Cruise
A sternwheel paddleboat doing 75-minute narrated cruises on the Kalamazoo River through the harbor and out toward Lake Michigan. The sunset cruise is the one to take — the light on the river and dunes in the last hour before dark is genuinely beautiful, and the paddleboat format makes it feel like a different era. Saugatuck Chain Ferry
