Ridgefield Playhouse
A 500-seat intimate venue converted from a 1930s Cass Gilbert Jr. school auditorium that draws surprisingly big names for a town this size — the Playhouse has hosted Trombone Shorty, Pink Martini, The Head and the Heart, and Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The sightlines from every seat are excellent and the vibe is sophisticated without being stuffy. If anything good is playing during your stay, this is the night out.
Prospector Theater
A nonprofit first-run movie theater unlike any multiplex — think bean bag seats, lounge chairs, craft beer and wine service, and a mission of employing people with disabilities. Four screens show current releases plus National Theatre Live broadcasts from London. The programming is eclectic and the atmosphere is genuinely community-driven.

Connecticut's only museum dedicated entirely to contemporary art, and one of the most respected of its kind in New England. Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center
A beautifully preserved 1713 colonial tavern with a British cannonball still lodged in its exterior wall from the 1777 Battle of Ridgefield — one of the most vivid physical reminders of the Revolutionary War in New England. The four-acre site also incorporates the summer home additions of architect Cass Gilbert, making it a layered experience that spans 18th-century tavern life through early 20th-century aesthetics.
