Dolphin Fleet Whale Watch
The original whale watch operator on the East Coast, running since 1975 and departing from MacMillan Pier on 3–4 hour trips to the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. Naturalists from the Center for Coastal Studies narrate every trip and contribute to ongoing research. Humpbacks, finbacks, and minkes are regular sightings from April through October.
Art's Dune Tours
The classic way to experience the Province Lands dunes without hiking them, Art's Dune Tours has been running open-air SUV tours through the shifting sands since 1946. Pilgrim Monument & Provincetown Museum
The tallest all-granite structure in the United States, the 252-foot Pilgrim Monument commemorates the Mayflower Compact signed in Provincetown Harbor in 1620. The climb up 116 steps and 60 ramps is gentle and rewards with a 360-degree panorama over the entire Outer Cape and Cape Cod Bay. The museum at the base covers four centuries of Provincetown history.
Race Point Beach
A vast, wild beach at the very tip of Cape Cod managed by Cape Cod National Seashore, Race Point faces north into the open Atlantic. The dunes behind it are among the finest on the East Coast, and the absence of development in any direction is striking. Whale sightings from shore are possible in season, and the Old Life Saving Station anchors the eastern end.
