North Beach Park to Glass Beach
A 5.7-mile out-and-back along the Admiralty Cove shoreline west of Fort Worden, this easy beach walk is what Port Townsend locals send visitors to when they want a morning that requires nothing but good timing on the tides. The destination is a stretch of beach where decades of wave action have tumbled old glass and pottery into smooth, frosted sea glass of unusual variety. Key City Public Theatre
Port Townsend's 66-seat professional community theater has produced consistently well-reviewed work since 1991 in a Washington Street performance space near the heart of downtown. The intimate scale means there is not a bad seat in the house, and the productions range from contemporary drama to Shakespeare to original Pacific Northwest work. The company won three Sound on Stage Awards in 2025, and nearly every production sells out well in advance.
Rose Theatre
A 1907 vaudeville house turned art-house cinema on Taylor Street, the Rose shows first-run films alongside repertory classics and hosts live opera, dance, and theater broadcasts. The signature space is the Starlight Room upstairs — a rooftop viewing area with antique couches and chairs where you can order drinks and tapas and watch films projected on a screen. Fort Worden Historical State Park

JCHS Museum of Art + History
Housed in the beautifully restored 1892 City Hall building on Water Street, this small but sharp museum covers the full arc of Jefferson County from Coast Salish peoples through the Victorian boom-and-bust era that froze the town in architectural amber. The original city jail is still intact downstairs, and Jack London reportedly spent a night in one of its cells. Rotating art exhibitions share space with permanent historical artifacts including a horse-drawn fire engine.
