Restaurants & cafés
Cattlemen's Steakhouse
OKC's oldest continuously operating restaurant, serving steaks in Stockyards City since 1910. A low-lit room of booths and cattle-brand decor where ranchers and downtown suits both turn up; the lamb fries are the dare-your-friend order.
Pho Lien Hoa
A bustling, no-frills Vietnamese pho hall on NW 23rd that many locals call the city's best bowl. Cash only, big portions, and a steady line of Asian District regulars; the brisket-and-rare-steak pho is the default order.
Trails & outdoors
Lake Hefner
A large reservoir in northwest OKC ringed by the paved Bert Cooper Trail, the city's most-used running and cycling loop. Roughly nine miles around with a lighthouse, marinas, and sailboats; flat, wide, and exposed.
Bluff Creek Park
A northwest-side park with two trail systems: a short shaded paved loop and a longer unpaved singletrack popular with mountain bikers. The dirt loop through a wooded corridor is the closest real off-road riding to the city core.
Things to do
Oklahoma City Museum of Art
A downtown art museum best known for the towering Dale Chihuly glass sculpture in its atrium and a strong American and European collection. It also runs one of the city's best art-house film programs in its theater.
Factory Obscura
An immersive, hands-on art installation built by a local collective in a downtown warehouse. Mix-Tape is a walk-through, touchable, music-themed sensory environment of rooms; part art, part playground, fully interactive.
Landmarks & sights
Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum
The outdoor symbolic memorial and indoor museum on the site of the 1995 Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing. The Field of Empty Chairs, the Survivor Tree, and the Gates of Time anchor a reflecting pool; the museum tells the day's story hour by hour.
Myriad Botanical Gardens
A 15-acre downtown park built around the Crystal Bridge Conservatory, a tubular glass greenhouse spanning a sunken lake. Outside there are lawns, a dog park, a splash fountain, and a seasonal ice rink; inside is a tropical collection with a canopy walk.
