Marginal Way Walk
The signature Ogunquit walk follows 1.25 miles of cliff edge from the north end of Shore Road to Perkins Cove, paved throughout and accessible to most ability levels. The ocean-facing ledges drop steeply to the sea below, and the path is wide enough to stop and linger at any of the 39 benches without blocking the route. Morning walkers have it largely to themselves.
Mount Agamenticus Trail
A 692-foot summit reachable from multiple trailheads in a 10,000-acre conservation area 15 minutes west of Ogunquit, with 40 miles of trails ranging from easy loops to mountain bike tracks. The summit viewpoint takes in the Maine coast and on clear days reaches south to the Boston skyline. The scale of the protected land around the mountain makes trail options almost unlimited.

America's Foremost Summer Theatre has been presenting Broadway-caliber productions in this 750-seat playhouse on Route 1 since 1933, drawing major touring productions and occasionally originating work that moves to New York. The building is a classic summer stock barn-theater, and the season runs May through October with productions that attract serious theater audiences from across the northeast.
Finestkind Scenic Cruises
Scenic and educational sailing excursions out of Perkins Cove that cover the inshore geology, lobstering traditions, and marine wildlife of the southern Maine coast. The family-operated boats are small enough for an intimate experience, and the captains bring genuine knowledge of the coast they grew up on. Marginal Way
A 1.25-mile paved cliff walk from Shore Road to Perkins Cove that traces the rocky edge of the Atlantic, passing tide pools, craggy sea ledges, and one of the quieter stretches of Maine shoreline accessible without hiking gear. The 39 benches spaced along the path were placed at the points with the best views, and in storm season the waves breaking on the ledges below are spectacular. It is genuinely one of the most beautiful walks on the New England coast.
Perkins Cove
A cluster of shingled fishing shacks converted into galleries, boutiques, and seafood restaurants around a working lobster boat cove, connected to the main shore by a unique double-leaf drawbridge that pedestrians can raise themselves by pressing a red button. The cove remains a functioning working harbor — lobster boats depart at dawn and return through the afternoon — which gives it a character that purely tourist harbors lack.
