Observation Hill Trail
A 3.5-mile lollipop loop on the refuge that climbs gently through sagebrush to a hilltop viewing platform, then runs along the forested edge of Lake Lowell. From the top you get the whole lake plus the Boise Front and Owyhee mountains. The best easy hike with a payoff near Nampa.

Lake Lowell
The reservoir at the heart of the Deer Flat refuge, a flat no-wake lake ringed by orchards and farmland southwest of Nampa. Locals use it for fishing, paddling, and birdwatching, with Lake Lowell Park as the main access point. It's the closest open water to town.
