Military Ridge State Trail
A 40-mile crushed-limestone rail trail connecting Mineral Point to Fitchburg near Madison, following an old military road ridge through the Driftless landscape of glacially untouched valleys and farmland. The Shake Rag Trail spur connects directly from downtown Mineral Point to the main corridor, making it walkable or bikeable from the center of town. The western section near Dodgeville is particularly scenic as it passes through forested ridgelines.

Mineral Point Opera House
Built in 1914 as a vaudeville house and carefully restored in 2009, this intimate 300-seat theater on High Street serves as both a first-run movie cinema and a live performance venue for concerts, theater, and community events. The interior — pressed tin ceilings, original balcony, vintage marquee — is as much the draw as whatever's on the bill. Attending a show here is a fundamentally different experience from a multiplex.
Brewery Pottery
Housed in a rambling 1850s brewery complex on Shake Rag Street, this working pottery studio and gallery represents more than 250 artists across media — ceramics, jewelry, textiles, woodwork, glass, and original paintings. Pendarvis State Historic Site

Mineral Point Railroad Museum
The oldest standing railroad depot in Wisconsin, a two-story stone building dating to 1856, has been meticulously restored and filled with railroad history from the Mineral Point line through the Milwaukee Road era. The volunteer-run museum punches above its size — the highlight is a large-scale working model railroad layout that takes up an entire room. It's smaller than you expect and better than you'd guess.
