A narrow tapas bar in the old town that has been a Marbella institution since 1954, with tables packed tightly, tiled walls and a menu of fresh fish and Andalusian tapas at prices that feel from another era. The daily catch comes from local fishermen and the kitchen fries and grills it simply. One of the most authentic places to eat on the Costa del Sol.
La Tienda Casa Curro
A wine shop and tapas bar in the old town with over 120 wines by the glass selected by a house sommelier, paired with elevated tapas versions of Andalusian classics. The format is part wine shop, part bar — shelves of bottles surround the bar seating — and the staff approach is educational rather than just service. One of the most interesting wine-and-food combinations in the old town.

La Concha – Summit Trail from Refugio de Juanar
The main hiking route on the Costa del Sol, climbing the Sierra Blanca's La Concha peak (1369m) from the Refugio de Juanar at 1000m. The summit circuit covers about 6km return with 400m of ascent through limestone scrub and reaches a dramatic rocky summit with views of Gibraltar, the coast and, on clear days, the North African coastline. The refuge at the base provides a pre-hike meal and post-hike rest.
Coastal Path – Marbella to Puerto Banús
A 7km seafront promenade and coastal path west from central Marbella to Puerto Banús along the Paseo Marítimo, with beach access throughout, views of the Sierra Blanca and the Mediterranean, and multiple chiringuito beach bars en route. Flat and paved for most of its length, the walk is the leisurely Costa del Sol option that requires no preparation and ends at the marina for a meal or taxi back.

Hammam Al Ándalus Marbella
An Arabic-style hammam in the old town of Marbella, in a vaulted setting with star-pierced ceiling, marble pools at different temperatures and a teahouse. Based on the same format as the Granada original, with the Marbella version in a renovated historic building close to Plaza de los Naranjos. The most accessible wellness option in the old town without driving to a resort hotel.
Casa de la Cultura – Marbella
The city's main cultural centre in the old town, hosting art exhibitions, live music, theatre and cinema in a building that also contains the city's public library and local archive. It runs a year-round programme that is affordable and locally oriented rather than tourist-facing. The most consistent venue for cultural programming in Marbella.

Marbella Old Town (Casco Antiguo)
A compact Andalusian whitewashed old town of narrow lanes, flowerpot-draped walls and the central Plaza de los Naranjos, established in the 15th century and well-preserved. The square itself, shaded by orange trees and surrounded by terrace restaurants and the old town hall, is the natural centrepiece. The lanes surrounding it hold the best tapas bars and independent shops on the Costa del Sol.
Plaza de los Naranjos
The orange-tree-lined central square of Marbella's old town, laid out in the 15th century with the Renaissance town hall, a 16th-century chapel and a 17th-century hermitage arranged around a central fountain. The orange trees were planted for their fragrance rather than edibility and the square is most beautiful in spring when the blossom fills the air. The terrace restaurants surrounding it are tourist-priced but the architecture is the reason to sit.
