Dolan's
A family-owned riverside pub on Dock Road with five connected music venues, hosting trad sessions nightly in the pub and bigger gigs from Fontaines DC to Sharon Shannon in the warehouse out back. It is the single most important live-music venue in the city and a guaranteed good night.
Lime Tree Theatre

Landmarks & sights
King John's Castle
A 13th-century Norman castle on King's Island with thick curtain walls and round towers, dramatically overlooking the Shannon and Thomond Bridge. The modern visitor centre underneath uses 3D models, projections and excavated medieval streets to tell the story of the siege city.
St Mary's Cathedral
The oldest building in continuous use in Limerick, founded in 1168 on the site of a Munster king's palace, with medieval misericords carved with mythical beasts. It is a quiet, atmospheric counterpoint to King John's Castle a few streets over.
