The Haunted Hamburger
Jerome's most famous burger joint, set on a terrace that drops straight off the hillside over the Verde Valley. The burgers are big and the view does a lot of the work, but the patio at golden hour earns the hype. Come for lunch with a group.
Asylum Restaurant
The nicest table in town, inside the Jerome Grand Hotel in a former hospital high on Cleopatra Hill. Southwestern-leaning contemporary plates, a long-running award wine list, and arched windows framing the whole valley. This is the date-night and special-occasion spot.

Woodchute Trail #102
The classic ridge hike above Jerome, climbing through pinon and juniper to a plateau with views from Sycamore Canyon to Sedona and across the Prescott Valley. Out-and-back around 6.5 miles, moderate, in the Woodchute Wilderness off Mingus Mountain. The big-view day hike locals send visitors on.
North Mingus Trail #105
A forested route along the flank of Mingus Mountain above Jerome, climbing through cooler pine country with valley overlooks. Moderate and runnable as a loop with connecting trails, it's the higher-elevation escape when the valley heats up. Quieter than the Woodchute crowd.

Caduceus Cellars
Maynard James Keenan's downtown Jerome tasting room, pouring Italian- and Spanish-style wines made from his Verde Valley vineyards in an underground bunker dug into the hillside. Knowledgeable pours and a small shop. The anchor of Jerome's wine scene.
Passion Cellars
A small, friendly Main Street tasting room pouring both sweet and dry Verde Valley flights at a fair price. The intimate room means you actually chat with whoever's pouring about the wine and the town. A relaxed second stop after Caduceus.
Landmarks & sights
Jerome State Historic Park
The 1916 Douglas Mansion built above the Little Daisy Mine, now a museum of Jerome's copper-boom history. The 3-D model of the town with its underground mine network and the mineral room are the highlights, and the terrace has the widest valley view in town.
Gold King Mine Ghost Town
A sprawling open-air collection of rusting mining gear, antique trucks, and a working sawmill on the dirt road above town. It's part junkyard, part museum, with farm animals and a giant diesel engine they fire up for visitors. Kids who like machines lose track of time here.
