Beech
An all-seasons restaurant that a group of Jamestown locals built inside an iconic village building, with five distinct spaces ranging from a lively bar to twinkle-light courtyard tables shaded by a 150-year-old copper beech. In 2026 it came under James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Schlow as chef and managing partner, with Jamestown native Eric Warren as executive chef, and the menu turned to new American cooking with Mediterranean influences — tuna tartare, mussels, steak frites, house-made pasta, and chicken Milanese.

Beavertail Lighthouse Loop
A 2.3-mile easy loop at the southern tip of Conanicut Island that combines rocky coastal headlands, scrubby maritime forest, and direct views of the Atlantic. The trail circles the Beavertail lighthouse and state park, with the northern section hugging the waterline and the southern section returning through sheltered woodland. With 82 feet of elevation gain, it is accessible to almost all fitness levels.
Fort Wetherill Cliff Trails
A network of narrow, interweaving paths through Fort Wetherill State Park along the granite cliffs of the island's eastern shore. The AllTrails-marked route is 0.9 miles, but the trail network is dense enough to build a 2-mile loop through the bunkers, along the clifftops, and down to the water's edge. The 108-foot elevation gain is short but the exposure is dramatic.

The island's primary outdoor rental and tour outfitter at East Ferry Wharf, offering kayak, stand-up paddleboard, and bike rentals. Equipment is delivered directly to your location, making it easy to launch from Mackerel Cove or any waterfront access point. SUP lessons are available for beginners.
Mr. Badger & Co. Private Sailing Charters
Private sailing aboard a classic 41-foot 1957 Concordia Yawl designed by Ray Hunt and Waldo Howland, launched from Jamestown with up to six guests. Captain Denis and First Mate Allie run two-hour sunset sails and custom charters that cover the bay between Jamestown and Newport, with wine and light provisions on board.

Beavertail Lighthouse & State Park
The southernmost point of Conanicut Island holds one of the oldest lighthouse sites in North America — the current 64-foot tower dates to 1856 and marks the entrance to Narragansett Bay. The surrounding state park spreads across dramatic rocky headlands with crashing surf, tidepools, and sweeping Atlantic views. The lighthouse keeper's house is now a small museum with Fresnel lens displays and Rhode Island lighthouse history.
Fort Wetherill State Park
Perched on 100-foot granite cliffs on the island's eastern shore, this former WWII coastal defense installation is now one of Rhode Island's most dramatic state parks. Concrete gun emplacements and bunkers are still explorable, and the clear, protected waters below are among the best snorkeling and diving spots in the state. Trails wind the clifftops with open views across Narragansett Bay to Newport.
