Hot Springs Mountain Trail
A wooded loop around the crown of Hot Springs Mountain, reached on foot from behind Bathhouse Row or from Gulpha Gorge, with shaded switchbacks and overlooks across the valley. It is the classic in-park hike, moderate and easy to reach from downtown. Pairs naturally with the mountain tower at the top.
Sunset Trail
The longest trail in the park, a rugged point-to-point or loop running roughly 10 miles or more across Music Mountain, West Mountain and Sugarloaf with connectors that let you set your own distance. It is a real half-day hike with steady climbs, rocky footing and quiet stretches well away from the bathhouses. For hikers who want more than a stroll.

The Gangster Museum of America
A guided downtown museum on Central Avenue telling the town's Prohibition-era story as an illegal gambling and bootlegging haven that drew Al Capone and other figures to its baths and casinos. The tour runs gallery to gallery with a guide and video, plus a mock antique casino room. A genuinely local history rather than a generic attraction.
Mid-America Science Museum
A hands-on science center on the wooded west side of town, with physics and motion exhibits, a Tesla coil demonstration and an outdoor skywalk and treehouse trail through the forest. It is a strong family stop that holds kids for hours. Affordable and well kept for its size.
Landmarks & sights
Hot Springs National Park
The smallest and oldest unit in the national park system, set right in town and built around 47 thermal springs that gush from the base of Hot Springs Mountain. Bathhouse Row is the heart of it, a line of grand early-twentieth-century bathhouses backed by wooded mountain trails. The free thermal fountains and the visitor center make it an easy half-day even without a soak.
Fordyce Bathhouse Visitor Center
The grandest bathhouse on the row, restored as the national park visitor center and free museum of the spa era. Three floors of marble, stained glass, tiled pools and original therapy equipment show how the thermal cure worked in its heyday. The self-guided walk through the bathing rooms is the best single stop for understanding the town.
