Geneva Lakefront Trail
The flat waterfront path along the northern shore of Seneca Lake — 4.3 miles, minimal elevation, popular with runners and cyclists. The local everyday trail that wraps around the state park and continues along Seneca Drive. Best early morning when the lake is still and the light is flat and clear.
Finger Lakes Trail - Ridge Section
The long-distance Finger Lakes Trail passes through the forested ridges east of Seneca Lake, delivering aerial views of the lake and the vine-covered hillsides below. Day-hiking sections near the Wine Trail are popular with visitors who want to earn their afternoon winery stop, and the ridge gives the best on-foot views of the lake you can find.

Smith Opera House
This 1894 opera house anchors Geneva's cultural life with a year-round calendar spanning folk, jazz, indie rock, theater, and film. The restored interior — painted ceilings, box seats, balcony — has the authentic architectural character that purpose-built performance venues rarely maintain. The acoustics are genuinely good for a room this size.
Seneca Lake Wine Trail Tasting Rooms
The 40 wineries ringing Seneca Lake each have distinct tasting-room personalities — Lamoreaux Landing for serious Riesling education, Fox Run Vineyards for consistent estate quality, Three Brothers for the social multi-venue experience. A day doing four or five properly is its own complete entertainment.

Seneca Lake State Park
The northern anchor of Seneca Lake, this 1,200-acre park marks where the lake meets the Seneca-Cayuga Canal and offers a wide, sheltered beach with views down the full 38-mile length of the lake. The marina and boat launch make it the starting point for kayakers and paddleboarders, and the walk along the water at golden hour is one of Geneva's best free experiences.
Rose Hill Mansion
One of the finest Greek Revival houses in New York, this 1839 National Historic Landmark sits on a bluff above Seneca Lake with 21 fully furnished rooms and docents who know the family history in depth. The view of the lake from the south lawn is quietly stunning and better than anything you see from the road.
