FAME Recording Studios
The original Muscle Shoals studio where Rick Hall recorded Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Etta James, and Otis Redding — the place where the Muscle Shoals Sound was invented and where the genre lines between soul, country, and R&B blurred in a way that changed what pop music could sound like. The guided tour moves through both studios and plays the actual records.
Muscle Shoals Sound Studio
The concrete block building on Jackson Highway in Sheffield where the Rolling Stones, Cher, Rod Stewart, and Paul Simon tracked records with the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section. The studio is a foundation now, not a commercial operation, which means the tour is personal and unhurried — guides tell stories the Wikipedia page does not have.
