Forever Wild Trails Perimeter Loop
The 9.1-mile perimeter loop through Dothan's 387-acre Forever Wild preserve is the best trail in the city for serious runners and mountain bikers, winding through a six-trail network of pine woods, creek drainages, and long wooden boardwalks over Beaver Creek wetlands. It is the only urban Forever Wild Land Trust trail in Alabama and stays remarkably wild given that it sits entirely within city limits. Four trailheads give multiple entry points.
Westgate Memorial Park Trail
A 3.4-mile paved and natural-surface trail winding through the 225-acre Westgate Memorial Park on the west side of Dothan, combining shaded forest sections with views of the park's small lake and open recreational areas. Folklore Brewing & Meadery
The first packaging brewery in Dothan since Prohibition, built on an old family farm south of the city and surrounded by the sort of backyard atmosphere that makes the drive feel intentional. A restored 1908 church, a one-room schoolhouse, and a vintage soda fountain complete the portrait of rural Alabama life before industrialization. The on-site planetarium runs shows for all ages and is the only one in the region.
