Ledges Trail and Pine Grove Trail Loop
The park's best single trail: a 2.6-mile lollipop loop through Ice Box Cave, along moss-covered Sharon conglomerate sandstone ledges, and out to the Ledges Overlook with its sweeping valley views. The geology here is unlike anything else in northeastern Ohio — ancient seabed rock formations, slot-canyon passages, and a cave cool enough to feel refrigerated even in August. Stunning year-round, particularly striking in winter when the ice formations inside the cave are at their peak.
Brandywine Gorge Trail
The most reviewed trail in Cuyahoga Valley National Park — a 1.5-mile moderate loop around Brandywine Falls and its gorge, descending via wooden stairs to creek level where the 60-foot falls appear overhead through hemlock canopy. The falls are the destination but the forest floor walk along the creek bottom is the part that keeps people coming back.

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad
Vintage train rides through the heart of CVNP along the Cuyahoga River and Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath — the park's most unusual transportation and a genuinely enjoyable way to see terrain that the trails only partially reveal. The Bike Aboard program allows cyclists to ride the Towpath one direction and take the train back. Fall foliage rides in October are the most popular single experience in the park.
Blossom Music Center
The Cleveland Orchestra's summer home — an outdoor amphitheater nestled in the national park with pavilion seating for 6,000 and lawn capacity for 15,000 more. Orchestra programs allow full picnics including wine on the lawn, which makes a summer evening here one of the most civilized outdoor experiences in the Midwest. The park also books major rock, country, and pop tours from spring through early fall.

Brandywine Falls
A 60-foot waterfall poured over Sharon conglomerate sandstone into a hemlock-shaded gorge, accessible via a short boardwalk and staircase from the parking lot or as the centerpiece of the longer Brandywine Gorge Trail. Two approaches exist: the upper boardwalk (0.3 miles, very easy) gives the classic overhead view, while the gorge trail descends to the creek level for a dramatically different perspective on the same cascade.
Ledges Overlook
The capstone viewpoint of the Ledges Trail, where Sharon conglomerate sandstone cliffs drop away to reveal a sweeping panorama over the Cuyahoga Valley. The trail to the overlook passes through Ice Box Cave — a shadowed slot canyon cool enough to feel refrigerated even in summer — and along moss-covered rock formations that form some of the most distinctive geology in the park.
