The preserve runs along the edge of Oso Bay with elevated boardwalk sections over the wetlands, and is a serious birding destination — herons, roseate spoonbills, and migrating shorebirds are reliable sightings in spring and fall. Dogs welcome on leash.
Cole Park Trail
A 2.2-mile paved bayfront path through Cole Park on Ocean Drive, the go-to morning run and evening stroll for south-side Corpus Christi residents. The trail runs along the bay with views of the water and the city skyline, connects a lighted fishing pier, a skate park, and a playground, and is flat and fully accessible. The most social trail in the city.

Texas State Aquarium
Covered under Sites — the aquarium is equally valid as an entertainment destination for families with children or for a rainy afternoon. The DOLPHINS! presentations at Dolphin Bay run several times a day and are included with general admission.
Harbor Playhouse
The longest-running community theater in Texas, with a year-round season of musicals, straight plays, and youth productions in a dedicated venue in the S.E.A. district. The productions are legitimately good — not just earnest — and the ticket prices are a fraction of professional theater. Locals treat it as a standing date-night option.

USS Lexington Museum
A 910-foot fleet carrier moored permanently on North Beach, the Blue Ghost lets you explore 11 decks of WWII naval history, flight simulators, and a collection of restored aircraft. Texas State Aquarium
