The walk can extend for several miles with almost no other development in sight, which is striking this close to a major city.
Orange Avenue Village Walk
A flat, entirely walkable village circuit along Orange Avenue and the connecting side streets, taking in the mix of boutiques, restaurants, the ferry landing, and Spreckels Park. Coronado Ferry Crossing
The San Diego Bay Ferry runs passenger service between the Broadway Pier in downtown San Diego and Coronado's Ferry Landing — a 15-minute crossing that is the most enjoyable way to arrive on the island and offers the only close-up perspective on the Coronado Bridge from the water. The ferry operates throughout the day and is used by both commuters and visitors.
Spreckels Park Summer Concerts
A bandstand park at the heart of Coronado's residential grid that hosts free Sunday afternoon summer concerts from June through September. The Coronado Concert Band and visiting ensembles perform while residents spread blankets and chairs on the lawn. Hotel del Coronado
A Victorian beach resort built in 1888 with a distinctive red-shingled crown roof that is one of the most photographed buildings in California. The beach in front of the hotel is the widest and most dramatic stretch on the island.
Coronado Beach
A wide, flat beach with unusually fine-grained pale sand that the Hotel del Coronado's iconic white towers overlook from one end. The surf is mild enough for casual swimming, the sand stretches for a full mile, and on clear days the beach offers views of Point Loma and the Pacific horizon.
