A strip-mall exterior hides the most serious smoked meat in southeastern Kentucky. Brisket, pulled pork and ribs come out of a real smoker and the sauces are house-made with zero gluten additives — the owner keeps it that way by necessity. Get there early; the best cuts sell out by mid-afternoon.

Eagle Falls Trail
Kentucky's most-loved short hike — a 1.5-mile loop inside Cumberland Falls State Park that delivers two waterfalls, a river overlook and a natural arch in under two hours. Eagle Falls itself is a 40-foot drop into a pool clear enough for a wade on hot days. The staircase descent is steep but the payoff is immediate.
Dog Slaughter Falls Trail
A 2.4-mile out-and-back that follows Dog Slaughter Creek through dense hemlock and rhododendron tunnels to a 15-foot falls at the creek mouth. The name stops traffic but the trail is genuinely peaceful, following the water through stands of old-growth-scale trees. A good counterpart to the Eagle Falls crowds.

The Corbin Arena
Southeastern Kentucky's indoor arena for concerts, comedy, wrestling, rodeos and graduation ceremonies. The 100,000-square-foot facility is the biggest entertainment venue in the region, with easy I-75 access and ample parking. Touring country acts, family shows and local sporting events rotate through year-round.
The Great Escape
Corbin's local escape room operation runs three themed rooms — a cabin-in-the-woods, a year-round Christmas adventure and an alchemist's lab — with tight puzzle design and staff that actually brief you properly. Ranked the top fun-and-games venue in town. Groups of up to eight work well; the rooms are genuinely challenging.
Landmarks & sights
Cumberland Falls State Resort Park
One of Kentucky's signature natural places — a 125-foot-wide curtain of water dropping 60 feet into a mist-shrouded gorge in the middle of Daniel Boone National Forest. Go during a full moon for the moonbow, one of only two places on Earth where a lunar rainbow appears predictably. The park is free to enter and the viewing area is a short walk from the lot.
Harland Sanders Café and Museum
The 1940 building where Colonel Sanders ran his motel-restaurant and quietly developed the recipe that changed fast food is on the National Register of Historic Places. The free museum section includes his original office, the kitchen setup and decades of KFC memorabilia. It is more interesting than you expect.
