Chautauqua Institution Amphitheater
The roughly 5,000-seat open-air amphitheater at the heart of the Institution hosts the bulk of the summer programming — morning lectures, afternoon music, and evening performances that range from the resident Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra to folk music to chamber recitals. Rebuilt in 2017 in a $41.5 million reconstruction that reproduced the beloved 1893 original and kept its Massey Memorial Organ, the 'Amp' remains the open-air center of Chautauqua life.
