Fiscalini Ranch Bluff and Marine Terrace Trail Loop
The most popular trail in Cambria, combining ocean-bluff walking with coastal meadow and pine forest. The Bluff Trail section follows the cliff edge above the kelp beds where sea otters and shore birds are common; the Marine Terrace drops slightly to a stone-benched path between the grassland and the slope above. Accessible to most fitness levels.
Moonstone Beach Boardwalk Trail
A level coastal boardwalk above Moonstone Beach running from the southern residential streets to Leffingwell Landing — about a mile one way with no elevation gain. The flat paved surface makes it accessible for all mobility levels, and the views across the rocky beach and kelp-filled water are consistently good. The best early-morning walk in Cambria.

Hearst Castle Tours
The primary draw for the entire region, the state-run tours of William Randolph Hearst's hilltop estate take visitors through rooms filled with medieval European furniture, Renaissance tapestries, and silver ceiling-height collections. The Grand Rooms tour covers the most territory; the evening tour (seasonal) has a different atmosphere entirely. The visitor center below has exhibits and a film that provide useful context.
Elephant Seal Viewing at Piedras Blancas
Free, unmediated wildlife viewing of one of California's largest elephant seal colonies from a well-positioned boardwalk. Docents from Friends of the Elephant Seal are present during peak times and provide context that significantly enhances the experience. The cycle of the colony — breeding, molting, pupping — offers something different depending on when you visit.

Hearst Castle
William Randolph Hearst's hilltop estate above San Simeon, designed by architect Julia Morgan over 28 years, with 56 bedrooms, 61 bathrooms, and some of the finest examples of European art assembled privately in America. The indoor and outdoor pools are the most photographed elements, but the sheer scale of the place — the gardens, the art, the rooms — is the real story. Tours are the only way in.
Moonstone Beach
A scenic stretch of beach named for the translucent pebbles and moonstones that wash up along the tide line. The shoreline is rocky rather than sand-swimming territory, but the boardwalk trail above the bluff is one of the best easy coastal walks on the Central Coast. The combination of wave-carved rocks, tide pools, and the pine forest backdrop is distinctly Cambrian.
