Belfry of Bruges
The medieval bell tower that owns the Markt skyline, with 366 narrow steps spiraling up to a view over every gable and canal in town. Entry is capped to a small number of climbers at a time, so the queue moves in pulses. The carillon still plays real concerts you can hear from the whole lower city.
Basilica of the Holy Blood
A double chapel tucked into the corner of the Burg: a dark, almost cave-like Romanesque lower level and a gilded Gothic upper chapel where a relic of holy blood is venerated. The contrast between the two floors is the whole point. It is small, so it slots easily between bigger stops.
