Museo de Bogotá
A free museum inside the beautifully restored 1823 Casa Sámano — one of La Candelaria's finest colonial buildings — that tells the city's own history through maps, photographs, objects, and testimonies from different Bogotá epochs. Smaller and more personal than the Museo Nacional, it focuses exclusively on the capital's identity and is often empty enough to be browsed at leisure.
Museo de Arte Moderno de Bogotá (MAMBO)
Architect Rogelio Salmona's 1985 building in the arts district holds MAMBO's rotating exhibitions of Colombian and Latin American modern and contemporary work across four floors and six gallery spaces. The permanent collection spans 3,600+ works; the temporary program brings in major regional names several times a year. Thursday evenings and the last Sunday of each month are free.

Museo del Oro
