The trail connects a series of parklands and provides a genuinely peaceful green corridor through suburban Bendigo that is easy to forget exists from the city centre. The best segments are near the native riparian plantings in the northern reaches.
Victoria Hill Historic Diggings Trail
A 1.4-kilometre loop through the remnant poppet heads, shafts and mullock heaps of an original Victorian goldfield in the heart of the city - the best accessible example of the surface archaeology of the gold rush within walking distance of the city centre. Guided underground tours of a real gold mine that operated until 1954 - descending 61 metres to Level 2 where visitors walk through original tunnels, see the original mining equipment and hear about the lives of Bendigo's miners. Central Deborah Gold Mine

Golden Dragon Museum
A museum of Bendigo's Chinese community history centred on the two most significant objects in town: Dai Gum Loong (the world's longest imperial processional dragon) and the century-old Loong ceremonial dragon. The collection of jade, carved timber, ceremonial regalia and historical photography is more substantial than a museum of this size has any right to be. The adjacent Chinese garden is free to enter.
