Alto El Fuego

Refugio Frey
The classic Bariloche trek — a full-day climb from Villa Catedral through forest and up into a cirque of granite spires ringing a glacial lake, with a stone mountain hut at the top. It's the hike serious walkers come here for.
Sendero Cerro Llao Llao
A moderate forest climb on the Llao Llao peninsula to a low summit with the best panorama of Lakes Moreno and Nahuel Huapi short of a chairlift. Big payoff for a couple of hours of walking.

Museo de la Patagonia
The regional natural-history and ethnography museum inside the Centro Cívico, covering Mapuche culture, Patagonian wildlife and the area's settler history. The best rainy-afternoon stop in town and genuinely well curated.
Cervecería Patagonia
The flagship brewery on the Circuito Chico with a hops field, a lavender plot and a deck looking straight over Lago Moreno — arguably the best-sited brewpub in the country. As much a view stop as a beer stop.
Landmarks & sights
Centro Cívico
The green-stone-and-log civic square architect Bustillo designed in the 1940s, and still the heart of town — clock tower, the cathedral nearby, and a balcony over Lake Nahuel Huapi. It's where the chocolate shops, the museum, and the lakefront all converge.
Cerro Campanario
A short chairlift up a 1,050-meter hill that National Geographic once ranked among the world's best views — Nahuel Huapi, Lake Moreno, the Llao Llao peninsula and the Andes all in one 360-degree sweep. The payoff-to-effort ratio is the best in the region.
